Spun Acrylic – Homo Polymer and Co Polymer
Acrylic fibre and yarn are made from a synthetic polymer called acrylonitrile.
Wilkie manufacture our own Spun Acrylic yarn (both Homo Polymer and Co Polymer fibre types) in our purpose built facility in Jiaxing, China whereby we twist Staple Acrylic fibres together to make a cohesive thread, or "single”. These singles are then plied together to create a plied yarn. Wilkie have the ability to manufacture up to 4 ply yarn.
